This temple attracts millions of devotees who visit the holy site dedicated to Maa Vaishno Devi, located in the hills of Katra. The ban applies not only to the devotees but also to the local residents, including shopkeepers.
The order was issued by the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, with Piyush Dhotra, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Katra, overseeing the decision. It was implemented under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), and those who violate the ban will face legal action. The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) of Jammu and Kashmir announced the order through a press release, and the police department has been instructed to ensure strict enforcement.
