A new beer inspired by the hit HBO show House of The Dragon has made its debut in Delhi, thanks to a collaboration between Medusa Beverages and Warner Bros

Medusa Beverages, based in Delhi, has partnered exclusively with Warner Bros. to create the House of The Dragon Fire Edition, a beer that features unique packaging and flavor. This collaboration is part of a three-year co-branding deal that includes both House of The Dragon and Game of Thrones.

The beer, designed to appeal to fans aged 25 to 40, features dragons and fiery designs on the cans, staying true to the House of The Dragon theme. It took Medusa about a year to convince Warner Bros. to enter the partnership, and another six to seven months of negotiation before the deal was finalized. The design of the packaging, including the dragon imagery, was provided by Warner Bros., and every detail had to be approved by the company.

The beer itself is crafted with a unique combination of malted barley from Argentina and hops that give it a smoky, peaty flavor. The alcohol content is precisely 5.5% ABV, which is clearly stated on the can, unlike other beers that provide a range. The Fire Edition will be available in Delhi initially, where Medusa’s largest market is located, with cans priced at Rs 150 and pints at Rs 120. It will also be sold in urban areas of Punjab, Western Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Haryana, with plans to expand to more states like Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh in the future.

Medusa is already working on a Game of Thrones-inspired beer, which will launch next financial year. Since its launch in 2018, Medusa Beverages has gained a strong presence in the Indian alcohol market. The brand has seen impressive growth, with sales jumping from 3.2 lakh cases in 2022-2023 to 6.8 lakh cases in 2023-2024, and is on track to hit 1.1 million cases. Medusa plans to expand further, with a focus on the northeast and southern parts of India in the coming years.
