Goa Government Closes Liquor Shops Near Maharashtra Border for Elections
On October 29, the Goa government announced that all licensed liquor establishments within 5 kilometers of the Maharashtra border will be closed during the upcoming elections. These closures will take place from 5 PM on November 18 until 6 PM on November 20, covering the final campaigning period and polling day. Additionally, liquor shops will also be closed on November 23 for vote counting. There will also be limits on how much alcohol a person can possess in the area without a permit during this time.
