During this year’s Durga Puja celebrations, Kolkata saw liquor sales reach ₹148 crore from October 3 to October 15. This is a significant 20% increase compared to last year.
In total, liquor worth ₹45 crore was sold in the Alipore district alone. On average, the city sells about ₹300 crore worth of liquor each month, while the entire state of West Bengal records around ₹1,700 crore in liquor sales monthly.
