Deepaknath PJ has been appointed as the Deputy Director General of the Brewers Association of India (BAI), which represents major beer companies like AB InBev, Carlsberg, and United Breweries (a Heineken company).
Based in Bengaluru, Deepaknath will focus on public policy advocacy for the beer industry in Southern and Western India, as well as coordinating various national initiatives. He has extensive experience in both the beer industry and public policy.
Mr. Vinod Giri, Director General of BAI, expressed confidence that Deepaknath’s background in brand marketing and regulatory policy will greatly benefit the organization and help promote beer as a responsible and sustainable alcoholic beverage.
With over 25 years of experience, Deepaknath began his career at United Breweries, where he worked on the Kingfisher brand, including the launch of Kingfisher Strong, India’s top-selling beer. He later joined SABMiller as Vice President of Marketing and has spent the past four years advocating for spirits policy as Deputy Director General of CIABC.
