Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadlines for submitting applications for liquor shops and revised the start date for the new liquor policy for 2024-26 from October 16.
Excise and Prohibition Director Nishant Kumar announced that the new deadline for applications is now October 11 at 7 p.m. Verification and preparations for the draw of lots will occur on October 12 and 13, with the actual draw set for October 14. As a result, the current shop policy has been extended until October 15, and the new policy will take effect on October 16.
So far, the government has received over 50,000 applications to open liquor retail outlets, generating approximately ₹1,000 crore in revenue.
