India’s growing affluent class is driving a significant increase in sales of high-end spirits, particularly Scotch whisky and fine wines, which are seeing double-digit growth. This rise is outpacing consumption rates in both the U.S. and China, according to a researcher from Switzerland. Simon Joseph, a senior expert in luxury branding based in Zurich, noted that one area where India excels is in Scotch luxury whisky, which is growing at double the rate of the U.S. over the past five years.
