Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has strongly denied claims by Naina Devi MLA Randhir Sharma that there were irregularities in the auction of liquor shops. Sukhu countered Sharma’s accusations by saying that the previous BJP government’s failure to auction these shops led to a revenue loss of Rs 121 crore. He explained that his administration followed the established rules and the liquor policy strictly, unlike the previous regime, which had given various concessions that hurt revenue.
Sukhu emphasized that the auction process was transparent and conducted fairly, sometimes even requiring multiple rounds at certain locations. He asserted that his government adhered to the Excise Policy and did not violate any norms, unlike the previous government which failed to auction the shops properly, leading to lost revenue.
