Chandigarh Excise acting tough on irregularities and interstate smuggling of liquor by bottling plants, the excise department of the Chandigarh administration has sealed the premises of M/s Sancheti Packaging Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Cooperative Company Limited.
The UT administration said that during inspection by concerned officials and staff, major
discrepancies were found in both of above said bottling plants and thus breach cases were made against them.
Regarding breach cases, the Excise and Taxation Commissioner of the Chandigarh administration has decided to take stern view and has cancelled their licences and ordered sealing of premises along-with slapping of fine to the tune of rupees Rs 1.50 crores on the two firms.
