LUCKNOW: Another microbrewery is going to come up in UP, with the excise department on Monday issuing an MB-5 licence to a Noida-based entrepreneur for Gardens Galleria mall in sector 38A.
While UP-NCR continues to dominate the microbrewery business, businessmen from Agra, Mathura, Lucknow and Varanasi have also approached the excise department to set up new units.
The first unit came up in Agra in November 2019 and several more opened up in Noida and Ghaziabad thereafter. “Youth and working executives of Delhi and the national capital region like visiting microbreweries and a lot of microbreweries mushroomed in Gurugram as a result,” said district excise officer of Noida, RB Singh.
Himanshu Dhanuk, who was the first one to operate a microbrewery in Lucknow at the Summit building in Vibhuti Khand, said, “The response has been encouraging so far and a lot of the first time visitors have become our regular customers. The microbrewery culture is yet to evolve in the city.”

Meanwhile, district excise officer of Lucknow, Sushil Kumar Mishra said that two more micro breweries are expected to come up in the city before March 31.
As the Invest UP summit that is schedule to happen from 10th to 12th Feb 2023; is taking on in a full swing, the investments proposal received in the state has been remarkable.
