Nashik: The Nashik division excise department has seized banned liquor worth over Rs 3 lakhs during two raids on Friday. While one car carrying liquor was intercepted along the Ghoti-Sinnar road, another vehicle was intercepted and seized in the Bhagur area of the city.
The bottles being were for sale only in Dadra Nagar Haveli and not in Maharashtra. Apart from, this the state excise also found forged stickers of various renowned liquor brands.
Officials said that the total articles, including the car, liquor and stickers seized by them, were to the tune of Rs 3.34 lakh. The police have detained a 32-year-old person, a resident of Deolali Camp, who was carrying the liquor in the car.
Meanwhile, 42 more liquor bottles were seized when another car was intercepted in the Bhagur area.
