New Delhi: With the arrest of 32 people, the Delhi Police have claimed to have busted an illegal casino that was running from the top floor building in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka Mor on Tuesday. The cops have managed to recover 44 litres of liquor, along with  Rs 4 lakh cash, one loaded revolver, cash counting machine, chips, tokens, register and cash slips from their possession

The cops received a tip-off of the illegal casino while they were patrolling the area around 1:20 am. Commenting on the case, DCP Shankar Chaudhary said that the raid was conducted around 2 am after they got the information about the casino from an informer.

Following the information that the casino was operating from a building near Metro pillar number 772, a team was deployed to conduct the raid.


On reaching the top floor, the team discovered a big pool table surrounded by men and women who were playing cards along with cash and tokens. “As soon as police entered, they threw their cash on the table and started running here and there. However, the team managed to overpower all of them. Their details were obtained and verified, ” a report published by the Times of India quoted DCP, as saying.

A thorough probe into the matter revealed that allegedly, Yogesh Gehlot was the kingpin of this illegal casino racket. Reportedly, he was a resident of Navada village and was arrested in connection with this case. Among the 32 arrestees, 3 are women.

As per reports, the accused lived within a 10km radius of the spot. At least three cases have been lodged against the accused and cops have recovered a revolver from one of the accused that had six live rounds. On being questioned, the accused stated that it was a licensed weapon.
